Sometimes you see something that you want to do, and you think: if only I could that every day. My life would be set!

But then you set out to do it and you realize halfway through that maybe it’s not nearly as exciting or rewarding as you thought it would be.

A lot of things in life turn out this way. It’s the strange way the universe works. You get what you want, but it isn’t quite satisfying. Or, maybe it’s just a lot harder than you imagined.

You have to be careful with this, because while you’re never too young to do anything before you die, you can — in the end — find out that you wasted a lot of time.

And while time in and of itself doesn’t really exist, for it’s just a unit of measure used to help organize the world for practical purposes, there can be the sense — because we do, in fact, measure things by time spent — that your time might have been better spent doing something else.

Choose wisely.
